From Hurghada: Luxor 2027 Total Solar Eclipse & Valley of the Kings Day Trip - Lunch Included

Depart from Hurghada
and meet your Egyptologist guide in Luxor

Early in the morning, you are picked up from your hotel in Hurghada, El Gouna, Safaga, Soma Bay or Makadi Bay and travel to Luxor by air-conditioned vehicle. In Luxor, meet your Egyptologist guide and begin exploring the ancient sites.

Explore the Valley of the Kings and the Colossi of Memnon

Cross to Luxor's West Bank to visit the Valley of the Kings and enter selected royal tombs included in the standard ticket. Then stop at the Colossi of Memnon, where your guide explains ancient Egyptian beliefs about the sun and astronomy.

Watch the total solar eclipse from an outdoor viewing area

Head to an outdoor viewing area set up for clear views of the sky and settle in well before the eclipse begins. Watch the moon slowly cover the sun during the partial phases, and at maximum eclipse see the sun completely covered for about 6 minutes and 22 seconds.

Visit Karnak Temple after lunch

After the eclipse, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Then visit Karnak Temple to learn about the god Amun-Ra, solar symbolism and links to ancient astronomical beliefs before returning to your hotel in Hurghada.

※ An eclipse is a natural phenomenon, and viewing conditions depend on the weather, so visibility is not guaranteed.
※ Entrance fees for additional tombs not included in the standard ticket must be paid separately.
