About the Host

Highlights

This day tour takes you from Osaka or Kyoto to Amanohashidate and the Ine Funaya fishing village in northern Kyoto. Stroll through Ine, where traditional wooden boathouses called funaya line the water, and take in the view of Amanohashidate, a pine-covered sandbar stretching across the bay. Choose the cable car and cruise option to also enjoy the Ine Bay cruise and the Amanohashidate cable car. You will also visit Chion-ji Temple, dedicated to Monju Bodhisattva, the swing bridge and Amanohashidate Beach, traveling comfortably by private vehicle with an English and Chinese-speaking guide.

Program

Leave Osaka or Kyoto by coach
for the northern Kyoto coast

Depart from Osaka at 8:00 AM or Kyoto at 9:00 AM and ride about 2.5 hours in an air-conditioned vehicle to northern Kyoto. A bilingual guide speaking English and Chinese accompanies you throughout the day.

Explore Ine Funaya village and Ine Bay

Spend about 1.5 hours strolling and taking photos in Ine, where traditional wooden boathouses (funaya) built right over the water line the shore. From Funaya no Sato Park and its observation point, you can look out over Ine Bay and the village.

With the cable car and cruise option, you will board an Ine Bay sightseeing boat for about 30 minutes and admire the funaya village from the water, with seagulls flying alongside the boat.

Look down on the Bridge to Heaven
from Amanohashidate View Land

You will spend about 2 hours at Amanohashidate. With the cable car and cruise option, ride up to Amanohashidate View Land to enjoy the panorama of the pine-covered sandbar and the sea, and see Amanohashidate looking like a dragon flying through the sky from the Hiryukan observation deck.

Visit Chion-ji Temple, the swing bridge and the beach

At Chion-ji Temple, dedicated to Monju, the Bodhisattva of Wisdom, you can burn incense, pray and draw a unique fan-shaped omikuji fortune. Cross the Kaisen-kyo swing bridge and take a relaxing walk along the clear waters of Amanohashidate Beach before returning to Osaka or Kyoto by vehicle.

※ The Ine Bay cruise and Amanohashidate cable car are only available with the cable car and cruise option.
※ The itinerary and order of visits may change depending on local conditions.
※ On public holidays, weekends and in peak season, traffic may delay the return.
