Harukas 300, which offers a dazzling view of downtown Osaka, is a 300m high observatory, as its name suggests. It is a romantic place that presents a refreshing beauty against the backdrop of the blue sky during the day, and a breathtaking view of the sparkling cityscape at night.

From the three-story observation floors on the 58th, 59th, and 60th floors, you can enjoy a 360-degree view of Dynamic City Osaka, as well as major areas in Kansai, including the old capital of Kyoto, Kobe, and the Rokko Mountains.

At sunset time, the sun sets in the west, and the Yodogawa River and Osaka Bay gradually turn from golden to red, creating a spectacular twilight scene. To the west, the sunset is visible, and to the east, darkness spreads ahead, and lights start to turn on. When the sun has completely set, Osaka’s night view, surrounded by the ocean and gently ridged mountains, looks like a jewel box. So I definitely recommend going there at least once.

How to get to Abeno Harukas

When traveling to Osaka, many people stay at hotels in the Dotonbori, Namba, and Umeda areas, so I will tell you how to get there based on those areas.

1. Take the Midosuji Line (platform 1) from Namba Station, get off at Tennoji Station and walk for 3 minutes.

2. Take the purple Tanimachi Line or the red Midosuji Line from Umeda to Tennoji Station, then walk for 3 minutes

When is the best time to go?

Abeno Harukas 300 Observatory is actually a fantastic view any time the weather is good. However, there is a royal time. It is the 17:00 admission time. If you enter at this time, you can see the full view of Osaka from sunset to night view.

Abeno Harukas is open from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., so you'll have plenty of time to see everything after entering.

Look around every nook and cranny

Abeno Harukas Observatory consists of three floors, from the 58th to the 60th floor. Once you’re here, you should definitely check out every nook and cranny on each floor, right?

58th - 59th floor: Garden of the Sky

The 58th floor has a spacious wooden deck space. Since the sky above is completely open, you can enjoy food and drinks in the fresh air. The best photo spot on the 58th floor is the Twin Towers. The beautiful sunset between the two towers is a must-see. At the Harukas 300 shop on the 59th floor, you can find Osaka Harukas' iconic novelty goods.

60F: 360 degree glass observation deck

The 60th floor is an indoor gallery with all walls made of glass from floor to ceiling. You can see a fantastic view of Osaka from 300 meters above ground, and the glass floor makes you feel as if you are walking on air.

Experience a new world

Osaka Harukas takes you up 288 meters above ground by elevator from the 16th floor entrance. The way the elevator changes(?) at this point makes you feel like you've entered a new world.

It feels like you've just taken off from the runway into the starry night sky, but you'll quickly ascend to the top in just 50 seconds. Then, as the elevator doors open, a fantastic view will unfold before your eyes.
