Starting from your hotel in Malang, this 3-day, 2-night tour takes you to East Java's top sights: Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, Mount Bromo and the Ijen volcano. On day one you stop at the Tumpak Sewu viewpoint and hike down to the bottom of the falls. Early on day two you ride a jeep to watch the sunrise at Mount Bromo, and early on day three you climb Ijen to see the blue fire in the crater and the sunrise. All entrance tickets, homestay accommodation, the Bromo jeep tour and gas masks are included, and the tour runs in small groups of up to 10 people.

Leave Malang to explore
East Java's waterfalls and volcanoes
Over 3 days and 2 nights you visit Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, Mount Bromo and the Ijen volcano, finishing at Ketapang Port in Banyuwangi. You travel in an air-conditioned van (the vehicle depends on group size) with an English- and Indonesian-speaking guide. Accommodation is in homestays.
Day 1: Hike down to Tumpak Sewu Waterfall
Hotel pickups start at 6:00 AM, and breakfast is served once everyone is in the van. After about 3 hours on the road, you arrive at Tumpak Sewu Waterfall around 11:00. It is a 10–15 minute walk from the parking lot to the panorama viewpoint above the falls, and another 30–45 minutes down to the bottom. You spend about 3 hours exploring the falls with a local guide and can swim in a cave. Nearby is Goa Tetes cave; getting there means passing through the waterfall, so you will get wet.
After lunch and free time at 14:00, you leave for Probolinggo at 15:30 (about 5 hours). You arrive at your accommodation around 20:00 for dinner. Please rest well, as the next day starts very early.
Day 2: Watch the sunrise at Mount Bromo by jeep
You are picked up around 3:00 AM and ride a jeep to watch the Bromo sunrise. After the sunrise around 5:00 AM, you continue by jeep at 6:00 and arrive at Mount Bromo around 6:30. You return to the accommodation around 8:00 for breakfast, check out at 11:00 and drive to the next accommodation toward Banyuwangi, arriving around 16:00.
Day 3: See the blue fire and sunrise at Ijen
You wake up around midnight and leave for Ijen at 0:30. After arriving around 1:30, you start trekking at 2:00 and take in the blue fire in the crater, the sunrise and the mountain views. Around 7:00 you walk down for 1–1.5 hours to Paltuding (the Ijen parking area), then have breakfast at the homestay at 8:30. At 10:00 you head to Ketapang Port, where the tour ends around 10:30 (Western Indonesia Time).
