This shared day tour leaves Malang early in the morning to visit Tumpak Sewu, East Java's best-known waterfall. First, you take in the panorama from a high viewpoint as hundreds of streams pour down the rainforest cliffs. Then you trek down to the falls in the valley, crossing bamboo bridges, rocky paths and small streams, and feel the cool mist up close. Entrance fees for the viewpoint, waterfall and Goa Tetes cave, plus an Indonesian lunch, are included.
Pickup is between 5:00 and 6:00 AM from your hotel, the station or a meeting point in Malang. This is a shared tour with travelers from different countries, driving about 3 hours past countryside, villages, farms and mountains to the Tumpak Sewu area.
When you arrive around 9:00 AM, you first head up to a high viewpoint overlooking Tumpak Sewu. You can see hundreds of streams falling together to form a huge curtain of water surrounded by lush cliffs and rainforest.
