After the tour, return to Malang or, depending on your option, take a shared van straight to Banyuwangi city.

from a quieter viewpoint
After pickup from your hotel in Malang in the early hours, ride a 4WD jeep along scenic mountain roads to the Bromo area. This tour takes you to a sunrise viewpoint that is less crowded than most, but it requires an uphill walk of about 20 minutes. Warm up with a hot drink or fried bananas at the parking area before walking to the top, and while waiting for sunrise you can photograph the stars if your camera supports it.
Reach the Bromo crater before the crowds
After enjoying the sunrise and the views of Bromo, return to the jeep around 6:00 AM and continue to the Bromo crater area. As this viewpoint is not often visited by locals, you avoid the usual jeep traffic and reach the crater earlier than other travelers. Cross the Sea of Sand and climb the stairs to hike to the crater rim in a calm atmosphere.
Return to Malang or continue to Banyuwangi
With the return-to-Malang option, you pass Whispering Sands and the Bromo Savanna on the way back to your hotel, and the tour ends around 11:00 AM. With the Banyuwangi drop-off option, after the crater and the Sea of Sand you wait for the shuttle van in Cemoro Lawang while having breakfast (not included). The van leaves around 10:00 AM and arrives at Alun-Alun in Banyuwangi city between 5:00 and 6:30 PM depending on traffic.
