From Sharm El Sheikh: Cairo Giza Pyramids & Museum Day Trip by Bus

and travel to Cairo by coach

After pickup from your hotel in Sharm El Sheikh, travel to Cairo by air-conditioned coach. For security reasons, all buses and vehicles travel in a convoy with police vehicles, so the one-way journey can take 7 to 9 hours. Your Egyptologist guide welcomes you on arrival in Cairo.

See pharaonic treasures at your chosen museum

First, head to the museum you chose when booking. At the Grand Egyptian Museum you can see more than 100,000 artifacts, including Tutankhamun's golden mask and dazzling jewelry and treasures. The Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square is the oldest archaeological museum in the Middle East and houses a vast collection of pharaonic artifacts.

After the museum, you can take a Nile boat cruise at an extra cost, arranged with your guide. Then enjoy lunch at a restaurant overlooking the pyramids.

Explore the Giza Pyramids and the Great Sphinx

After lunch, head to the Giza Plateau and take photos at the Panorama Point with a sweeping view of the pyramids. Explore the Great Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops), the only surviving wonder of the ancient world, as well as the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure, and see the Great Sphinx.

Stop at a papyrus museum and an essential oil workshop

While waiting for the convoy back to Sharm El Sheikh, stop at one or two places, a papyrus museum and an essential oil workshop, to learn ancient Egyptian techniques for making papyrus and essential oils. At the end of the day, the coach takes you back to your hotel in Sharm El Sheikh.
