BESTWhen I arrived between 11:30 am and 12:00 am local time on weekends, there were few people, so there was no difference between the QR code and the ticket. However, around 2:30, when I came out after looking around, the line was even outside the building. If you plan to visit in the afternoon, it is better to buy a QR unconditionally, and if you are going to visit in the morning, just go with the ticket. Wow, it's the building I was looking forward to the most during my trip, and I really liked it enough to meet that expectation. The review said that I watched it for about 1 hour, so I thought about 1.5 hours and made a schedule.. I watched 3 hours with a friend haha. It's really gorgeous, and there's an audio guide (6.5€, in Korean), so I recommend you to see it. If there are 3 or less people in the group, it would be nice to rent one person and take turns listening to it every time you move. The explanation for each space is only 1-2 minutes, but you have to wait in line for a while at the spot to take pictures in turn anyway. The two of us are taking pictures, but it's burdensome, it's inconvenient to go to the bathroom, and the tablet is quite large and heavy... Anyway, I really liked the building itself!! Really must go!! The building is so pretty that it would be reasonable to take a picture with a phone camera (LG). Architecturally worth seeing!

Officially known as the "National Academie de Musique - Opéra," the Opéra Garnier was designed entirely by French architect Charles Garnier. That's probably where the name "Garnier" comes from. True to its neo-Baroque style, the building is adorned with ornate paintings and sculptures both inside and out. Its gilded interior and Marc Chagall's ceiling painting, "Bouquet of Dreams," are particularly famous.
The Opera Garnier is also famous as the inspiration for 'The Phantom of the Opera', and opera and ballet performances are still held there today, so if you want a special experience, you can watch a performance.

Story of the Opéra Garnier

Does the exterior of the Paris Opéra Garnier remind you of anything? Parisians call the Opéra Garnier building a 'wedding cake'. The exterior looks a bit like a cake, doesn't it? Especially the statues above look like candles.
The interior of the building is a theater with approximately 2,106 seats. It's not huge, but it's really gorgeous. Performances by Jean-Philippe Rameau, Christoph Willibald Gluck, and Jean-Baptiste Lully were held here, and to date, more than 600 operas and more than 300 ballet performances have been held.
Fall in love with the more splendid interior

Little tips for the Opéra Garnier

Performances are still held at the Opéra Garnier. The 'flower' inside the theater is the Chagall ceiling painting right above it. You can't see this work at any time. So when should I go to see it?
The answer is on days when there are no performances. On days when there are performances, you cannot enter the theater due to preparations for the performance. So be sure to visit on days when there are no performances.
