Care for rescued elephants
at a sanctuary in Mae Taeng

This half-day (about 4-5 hours) elephant care program starts with pickup from your hotel in central Chiang Mai and a drive of about 1 hour to the countryside of the Mae Taeng district. Choose a morning or afternoon program, accompanied by an English-speaking guide, with drinking water, coffee and tea provided.

Learn about elephants and prepare their food

On arrival, change into local clothes and get ready for the activities. An experienced guide explains elephant behavior and how to care for elephants properly, and you prepare food and healthy feed for the elephants before feeding them.

Join the elephants at the mud and sand spa

Walk with the elephants to the mud and sand spa. Watch or join them as they play in the mud pool and bathing area, and observe their behavior in a beautiful natural setting. There is also a chance to take photos with baby elephants.

Shower and enjoy a Thai lunch buffet

After spending time with the elephants, shower and change, then enjoy a traditional Thai lunch buffet that is also suitable for vegetarians. After lunch, travel about 1 hour back to your hotel in central Chiang Mai.
