Visit two temples near Chiang Mai
on a half-day morning tour

Leave in the morning from your Chiang Mai accommodation (if selected) or the meeting point and visit Wat Pha Lat, a temple in the mountains, followed by Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, the best-known temple in northern Thailand. An English-speaking guide accompanies you, transport is by air-conditioned vehicle, and temple admission and bottled water are included. Pickup is between 8:00 and 8:30 AM, and you return to Chiang Mai around 12:00 to 12:30 PM.

Find Wat Pha Lat in the jungle

After about 30 minutes by car, you arrive at Wat Pha Lat, the first temple, set in mountain scenery. A short walk leads you to unique buildings that combine Thai and Burmese details in the middle of the jungle. Rest for a while to the calm sound of the waterfall before moving on to the next temple.

Climb 306 steps
to Doi Suthep Temple

From Wat Pha Lat, head to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, one of the most sacred temples in northern Thailand. Climb the 306 steps to enjoy a view over the temple and the surrounding area. If you prefer the cable car instead of the stairs, the fare (20 baht) is paid separately on site.

Explore the golden pagoda and temple grounds

See the 14th-century golden pagoda that enshrines a relic of the Buddha's shoulder bone, and experience Thai Buddhist culture and the calm of the chapels with your guide. After spending time on the temple grounds, get back in the vehicle for the roughly 45-minute drive back to Chiang Mai.
