Meet your Egyptologist guide at your hotel in Cairo and travel about 220 km to Alexandria in an air-conditioned private vehicle. The drive takes about 3 hours each way, and the whole tour lasts about 11–12 hours.

See Pompey’s Pillar and the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa

First, spend about 45 minutes at the Serapeum site viewing Pompey’s Pillar, a monument honoring Emperor Diocletian. Then walk through the ancient underground Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa for about an hour with your guide’s commentary.

Have lunch locally, then visit the Citadel of Qaitbay

With the lunch option, enjoy Alexandrian dishes at a local restaurant. Then spend about an hour exploring the seaside Citadel of Qaitbay.

Tour the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and return to Cairo

Spend about an hour at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, a modern landmark honoring the ancient Library of Alexandria. Afterwards, drive about 3 hours back to your hotel in Cairo.
