It was great just so you are aware the museum reservation is booked at what ever time, and is about 2 hrs from Tokyo. Even if the tour gets booked with in 2 hrs previous to 1700 you will have to pay an extra fee for every hour after 1700.

The trip was fun and relaxing. Mt Fuji was not visible but did not expect it to be. Our trip had a driver not necessarily a tour guide but he never gave us strict times and let us do what worked for us which was great since there were only myself and my son. All 3 places were worth the time even with the rain.

Our trip started out very smoothly. Our guide Kaili was very professional and helpful throughout all of our trip. He picked us up from the hotel and kept in regular contact with us leading up to the trip, which was a comfort. Our trip out to Mt Fuji was long, we hit a lot of traffic, however Kaili kindly allowed us a toilet stop in the way. Our trip to the Hakushu unfortunately did not happen due to an error with the tour provider, and thus was a big upset for us. A real shame as it was the part I was excited for the most. That being said, the guides were very helpful and apologetic and refunded us for this part of the experience.

My husband and I had a wonderful tour that we thoroughly enjoyed. Our driver was incredibly enthusiastic and caring, providing us with great assistance throughout the day. I especially loved the whiskey moment with the view.

Highlights

This private tour picks you up at your Tokyo hotel and covers Mt. Fuji highlights and the Suntory Hakushu Distillery in one day. Capture the Chureito Pagoda and Mt. Fuji in one shot at Arakurayama Sengen Park, then enjoy views of Mt. Fuji across the lake at Oishi Park on Lake Kawaguchi. In the afternoon, visit the Suntory Hakushu Distillery in the forest to explore the whisky museum and taste Hakushu whisky in the tasting lounge (tasting fees extra). An English-speaking driver-guide accompanies you for about 10 hours.

Program

Leave Tokyo and climb up to
Arakurayama Sengen Park

After pickup at your Tokyo hotel, drive about 2.5 hours to Yamanashi. At the first stop, Arakurayama Sengen Park, climb 397 steps to a viewpoint where the Chureito Pagoda, Fujiyoshida city, and Mt. Fuji fit in one frame. Spend about 1 hour taking photos and exploring.

Stroll around Oishi Park on Lake Kawaguchi

At Oishi Park, take a walk while enjoying views of Mt. Fuji across the lake. Lavender blooms in summer and kochia turns red in autumn. You will have free time for lunch by the lake, and the local hoto noodles are a good choice (lunch not included).

Discover whisky at the Suntory Hakushu Distillery

Spend about 1 hour 20 minutes at the Suntory Hakushu Distillery, surrounded by deep forest. Learn about Suntory's 100-year history at the whisky museum and explore the distillery grounds, gift shop, and the Hakushu Terrace in the woods. The factory production line tour is not included.

In the tasting lounge, you can choose from over 25 whiskies to taste (tasting fees extra). Limited-edition Hakushu whisky may be purchased on a first-come, first-served basis, limited to 1 bottle per person (age 20+), depending on daily stock. After the visit, drive about 2.5 hours back to Tokyo.

※ Views of Mt. Fuji and seasonal flowers depend on weather and season and are not guaranteed.
※ During peak season, departure time and schedule may change by up to 30 minutes due to traffic.
