Wagyu Yakiniku Ushio in Ginza (個室焼肉 うしお 銀座) is a high-end yakiniku restaurant offering private rooms only, perfect for an intimate dining experience. I tried their Takumi course, a full-course menu designed to showcase premium A5 Wagyu and a variety of Japanese flavors. The course included special kimchi and two types of namul (Korean-style seasoned vegetables), smoked Wagyu red meat sushi, oxtail soup, the A5 Wagyu platter, seasonal salad, filet cutlet sandwich, oxtail cold noodles, and yuzu sorbet with tea. I paired it with peach wine 🍑 and orange juice 🍊. Everything was delicious, the Wagyu was incredibly tender, and one of our favorites was definitely the filet cutlet sandwich. The private room made the meal feel even more special. If you’re looking for premium Wagyu in Ginza with an intimate setting, this is a must-visit!

Ginza may be saturated with yakiniku options, but Ushio stands out immediately for one reason: warmth. From the moment you enter, the staff’s genuine friendliness and relaxed hospitality set an entirely different tone—quietly confident service that makes you feel welcomed, not just seated. The meal opened with a Namul Moriawase—simple, balanced, and seasoned with a restraint that hints at the kitchen’s overall philosophy. The Wagyu Beef Sushi followed, offering a clean, melt-in-your-mouth richness without unnecessary embellishment. One of the most memorable dishes came surprisingly early: the Oxtail Soup. Simmered for eight hours, it was exceptionally light yet full of depth, with oxtail so tender it barely held its shape. A standout example of technique applied with intention. The Wagyu Yakiniku Selection showcased Ushio’s precision in sourcing and grilling. Cuts included tongue, hire, rump, zabuton, and togarashi—each grilled to highlight its natural character rather than mask it. The progression of textures and fat levels was thoughtful, building richness without fatigue. Then came the surprise highlight: the Wagyu Sando. Many places offer this now, but Ushio’s version finds an unusually good balance—lightly crisp beef, soft bread, and a sauce that ties everything together without overwhelming the meat. Simple, confident, and very well executed. The Oxtail Cold Noodles added a refreshing reset near the end of the meal. The noodles were satisfyingly chewy, the oxtail lightly smoked and tender, and the addition of shikwasa and shiso brought a bright, citrus-forward lift. It’s a thoughtfully crafted dish that closes the savory courses with surprising finesse. Dessert was a gentle finish: Yuzu Sherbet and Hojicha, clean and palate-cleansing in a way that felt intentional rather than obligatory. Overall, Ushio Ginza offers a yakiniku experience that feels grounded yet elevated—built on technique, great ingredients, and hospitality that genuinely enhances the meal. It’s the kind of restaurant you don’t just recommend; you return to. And for me, the fact that it’s only a one-hour walk from home might be a little dangerous—in the best way possible.

We had such an unforgettable experience at Ginza Private Room Ushio! The restaurant serves A5 Wagyu beef, the highest grade of Japanese beef - it was tender, beautifully marbled and packed with rich umami flavor. Every bite was a delight. We went for the Wagyu Beef Course «Takumi», which included a variety of beautifully presented dishes: appetizers, Wagyu sushi, a yakiniku platter, salad, filet cutlet sandwich, cold noodles and dessert. Honestly, everything was perfect from start to finish. I especially fell in love with the Kalbi - so flavorful, juicy and just unforgettable! The private room, elegant presentation and attentive staff made the whole evening feel really special. I highly recommend everyone to try this experience in Japan - you can only enjoy meat like this here. It’s genuine Japanese Wagyuand the flavor is truly unforgettable.

A5 Wagyu in a private room in Ginza — the kind of meal that feels like a proper occasion. The wagyu beef sushi with smoke presentation was a highlight. Every course was thoughtful and the quality speaks for itself. 🥩

I have nothing bad to say about this restaurang. Me and my partner had a great time and it was really like a VIP experience when you got your own room to sit in. We took a course menu and you could feel that they used high class ingredients, everything tasted amazing. From the Wagyu sushi which melted in your mouth, to the meat sandwich (It was the best sandwich we ever had). Even the noodles tastes amazing, I don’t know what they had done to them but it was delicious. Highly recommended if you are in Tokyo, we will for sure be coming back.
