Introduction to internal facilities
Sea of Japan (South Building, 2nd floor)
Here, various marine environments surrounding Japan are recreated. In addition to the "Kuroshio Current Tank," where you can see the "Maiwashi Tornado," the "Tunnel Tank" offers a view of graceful fish swimming from below, and tanks reproducing various environments like tidal flats and seaweed reefs showcase a wealth of creatures. Furthermore, in the "Micro Aquarium," you can observe the tiny creatures living in the Nagoya Port through a camera!
Jellyfish Aquarium (South Building, 1st floor)
The Jellyfish Aquarium (Kuragenagorium) displays approximately 500 jellyfish of 11 species. The display, featuring mirrors and lighting, highlights the jellyfish's beauty, creating a fantastical atmosphere. The adjacent "Jellyfish Research Center" (クラゲラボ) corner allows visitors to observe the growth of baby jellyfish as they grow into adults.
Main Pool (North Building, 3rd Floor)
The main pool, measuring 60 meters wide, 30 meters deep, and up to 12 meters deep, hosts two popular programs: dolphin performances and open orca training sessions. Equipped with a large stadium that can accommodate approximately 3,000 people and a large screen measuring 8.6 meters high and 14.7 meters wide, it's the largest in Japan. Witness the incredible physical abilities and intelligence of dolphins and orcas as they powerfully swim!
