Excellent value for money for visiting the Fukuoka area. Mobile activation is instant after purchase. We were able to take unlimited local and rapid JR trains for two days. It&#39;s perfect for discovering less touristy places. Note that it doesn&#39;t cover the Shinkansen, but for regular lines, it&#39;s unbeatable!

Be sure to buy it if you go from Fukuoka to Shimonoseki/Mojiko! Because it is mobile, it was easy to use without having to exchange a physical ticket. After clicking on the QR code, you can show it to the station staff and they will press the button to start using it. Be sure to visit Karato Market on the weekend!

I made two reservations because I&#39;ll be using it for 4 days. And for unmanned stations, you can just go out without worrying about what&#39;s going on. I looked for a while to see if there was anything, but there&#39;s nothing there except for a ticket booth. And for those going to Shimonoseki, you can get off at Moji Station and transfer, but I personally recommend getting off at Mojiko Station and walking to the Kanmon Undersea Tunnel. The scenery is nice.

It offers incredible value for money. Being able to use JR lines unlimitedly and ride express trains is a huge advantage. Since you can travel between Kitakyushu and Hakata in just 45 minutes, there are countless places you can go. I got off at Shimonoseki, went straight to Mojiro, and started using it.

Introducing the JR Kyushu Fukuoka Wide Pass, perfect for those wanting to explore all of Fukuoka. With this pass, you can discover the entire Fukuoka area, including Hakata and Kurume, via the JR Kyushu line. The Wide Pass allows you to use most limited express trains, excluding the Shinkansen, such as the Limited Express Sonic, Limited Express Kirameki, and Limited Express Kamome, making your travel fast and convenient.

Am I Eligible to Use It?

Available to all nationalities except Japanese citizens. Foreign tourists visiting Japan for tourism purposes with a short-term stay entry status can use it.

Introducing the Available Sections

Based on Fukuoka Hakata Station, you can use the pass to travel east to Kokura, Noseki, and Yukuhashi; south to Tosu, Kurume, and Omuta; and west to Meinohama and Karatsu.

All destinations within the map above can be visited with just this one pass, so it's a good idea to check the areas you plan to visit in advance.

What Types of Trains Can I Ride?

You can ride almost all JR Kyushu trains except for the Shinkansen and some limited express trains (fully reserved seating). You can also take the Sonic train, which is frequently used when traveling to Kokura.

Traveling to Karatsu?

If you are traveling to Karatsu, there is an important point to be aware of. The JR train to Karatsu and the Fukuoka City Subway operate directly with each other, so you must first board the Fukuoka City Subway.

When you arrive in Karatsu, be sure to show your Fukuoka transportation card or pass along with the Wide Pass at the ticket gate, so be prepared and don't be caught off guard!

3. Present the pass screen to the manned ticket gate station staff to enter

Present the ticket screen from your browser to the staff at the manned ticket gate. You cannot pass through automatic ticket gates.
