Paris Seine River & Canal Saint-Martin Cruise (English/French Commentary)

Depart from below the Musée d'Orsay
and see the Seine's landmarks from the water

Board the boat at Port de Solférino, right below the Musée d'Orsay, and begin your cruise along the Seine. You can view famous Paris landmarks such as the Tuileries Garden, the Louvre, the Pont des Arts and Notre-Dame Cathedral from the water. The guide provides commentary in English and French.

Pass through the underground tunnel beneath Place de la Bastille

After enjoying the open views of the Seine, you enter the Canal Saint-Martin beneath Place de la Bastille. The underground tunnel, about 2 km (1.24 miles) long, is lit by daylight shining through openings in the ceiling, creating a unique atmosphere.

Follow the Canal Saint-Martin

Leaving the tunnel, the Canal Saint-Martin opens up, surrounded by chestnut trees and romantic footbridges. You pass the bust of Frédérick Lemaître near the Temple, the Récollets lock and the Hôtel du Nord, and go through the Dead Lock near the former site of the Montfaucon gallows.

Pass the Bassin de la Villette and arrive at Parc de la Villette

The boat passes the Bassin de la Villette and rue de Crimée and arrives at Parc de la Villette. The park is home to the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie, the Music Museum and themed gardens. The cruise ends at Parc de la Villette, not at the departure point.
