Read the aurora forecast together
and choose the night's route
After pickup from your accommodation in the Ivalo or Saariselkä area, you analyze the latest weather maps, cloud cover and aurora forecasts with your guide and choose the route with the best chance of seeing the aurora that night. Depending on conditions, you may visit the forests around Saariselkä, the open views of Lake Inari or quiet spots around Ivalo.
Learn the science and stories of the northern lights
With interactive aurora discovery cards, find out how the northern lights form, why their colors and shapes change and why cameras capture them better than our eyes. You also hear stories and history about the northern lights, so no prior knowledge is needed.
Capture the aurora when it appears
Whenever the aurora appears, you stop to watch it together, and your guide helps you capture the moment with your smartphone or camera. Portrait photos taken by your guide with a professional camera are shared after the experience.
Take a break with hot drinks and snacks
During the experience, relax with hot drinks and handmade local snacks. You stop at selected places to feel the quiet Arctic air and, if conditions allow, take a short walk on a frozen lake or in the surrounding nature.
