Highlights
This 4-hour photo tour takes you in search of the northern lights in the autumn night sky around Saariselkä and Ivalo in Finnish Lapland. Each evening, the route and viewing spots are chosen based on weather conditions and cloud cover. You will receive photos taken by a professional photographer during the tour after it ends.
Program
Head out under Lapland's autumn sky
in search of the northern lights
You will be picked up from your accommodation in the Saariselkä, Ivalo, Kakslauttanen or Kiilopää area and travel by van. Each evening, the route and viewing spots with the best chance of seeing the northern lights are chosen based on weather conditions and cloud cover. The tour runs in small groups of up to 8 people.
Walk and enjoy the evening sky at a scenic viewpoint
Stop at a spot with panoramic views for about 1 hour to take a short nature walk, take photos and watch the sunset. Depending on the time of autumn, the tour may begin in the warm colors of sunset, the soft blue of twilight or the deepening darkness of the Arctic night.
Wait for the lights with hot drinks and homemade snacks
After about a 30-minute drive, you will stay at an undisclosed viewing spot for about 1 hour 30 minutes. Enjoy coffee, tea and homemade local snacks while taking in the quiet of the surrounding wilderness, as your guide shares knowledge and fascinating stories about the northern lights.
Receive photos taken by a professional photographer
Your guide takes photos during the tour and shares them after it ends, so you can keep memories of the Arctic night.
※ The northern lights are a natural phenomenon and sightings are not guaranteed.
