Chase the aurora by minibus
in search of clear skies
After pickup from your accommodation in the Saariselkä and Kakslauttanen area, set off across the Arctic night in a comfortable Mercedes-Benz minibus to look for the northern lights. Weather can vary greatly across northern Lapland, so even if Saariselkä is cloudy, the sky may be clear elsewhere. The experienced local driver uses weather forecasts and local knowledge to choose the best direction for the evening.
Head away from village lights to dark skies
Saariselkä village can have light pollution from hotels, buildings and roads. Traveling by minibus lets you explore a much wider area without being limited to snowmobile trails or a single spot, and go further if needed to find clear skies. However cold it is outside, you travel in the warmth of a heated vehicle.
Watch the aurora and capture it in photos
When you reach a dark location suitable for aurora viewing, watch the sky with your guide and take time for photos. A group aurora photo is included.
Return to your accommodation
After the tour, the minibus takes you back to your pickup accommodation.
