Highlights
This ticket gives you entry to the Shin-en, a viewing area on the left side of the Nikko Futarasan Shrine grounds. The Shin-en holds many Important Cultural Properties, including the bronze Kasuga lantern known as the Bake-doro, covered in countless sword marks, as well as Hie Shrine, the Mikoshi-sha (portable shrine house), Daikoku-den and Mitomo Shrine. You can also see a sacred cedar tree about 700 years old. Near the Futara Reisen spring there are stones for prayers for good relationships and safe childbirth, making it a popular power spot.

The Shin-en is a viewing area located on the left side of the Nikko Futarasan Shrine grounds. With this ticket, you can enter the Shin-en and take your time exploring its Important Cultural Properties and shrines.
See the sword-marked Bake-doro and a 700-year-old sacred tree
The bronze Kasuga lantern is said to have eerily changed shape when lit, and it bears countless sword cuts as a result, earning it the name Bake-doro (化灯籠). The sacred cedar, about 700 years old, is another highlight of the Shin-en.
Visit the shrines and power spots in the grounds
You can visit Hie Shrine, the Mikoshi-sha, Daikoku-den and Mitomo Shrine (朋友神社) in turn. Near the Futara Reisen spring there are stones for prayers for good relationships and safe childbirth, making it a popular power spot.

From JR Nikko Station or Tobu Nikko Station, take a Tobu Bus bound for Chuzenji Onsen or Yumoto Onsen (about 7 minutes), get off at the (86) Nishi-sando stop and walk about 7 minutes.
The nearest stop is (85) Taiyuin / Futarasan Jinja-mae. The World Heritage loop bus route changes on weekends and holidays, so please check in advance.
