After a night pickup from your accommodation in Yogyakarta, drive about 3 hours to the Dieng Plateau in Central Java. Watch the sunrise from Sikunir Hill, then visit Sikidang Crater, Telaga Warna Lake and the Arjuna Temple complex before returning to Yogyakarta. Wait for sunrise on Sikunir Hill

After a short but steep climb to the viewpoint on Sikunir Hill, spend about 2 hours waiting for sunrise and taking photos. On clear mornings, up to 8 volcanoes can be seen on the horizon.

Walk around Sikidang Crater and Telaga Warna Lake

A 10-minute drive takes you to Sikidang Crater, where you spend about 1 hour walking among bubbling mud pools and rising steam. Next, spend about 1 hour at Telaga Warna Lake, whose sulfur-rich water shows different colors depending on the sunlight.

Discover Hindu heritage at the Arjuna Temples

Spend about 1 hour exploring the Arjuna Temple complex, a group of Hindu temples built centuries ago. At the end of the day, drive about 3 hours back to your accommodation in Yogyakarta.
