See up close the Great Sphinx, a limestone statue with a human head and a lion’s body. Then visit the Valley Temple of Khafre within the Giza pyramid complex, and hear from your guide how the temple was used to purify the king’s mummy before burial. Afterward, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

at the Grand Egyptian Museum

Start beneath the impressive Hanging Obelisk, admire the statue of Ramses II in the Grand Hall, and climb the Grand Staircase lined with colossal artifacts. Your guide introduces key highlights including the 10 statues of King Senusret, the Ptolemaic king and queen, and the Victory Stela of Merneptah.

Follow Egypt’s history from prehistoric to Roman times through the 12 halls of the main galleries, and explore the Tutankhamun Gallery displaying more than 5,000 artifacts and golden treasures from the young king’s tomb. Finally, see King Khufu’s solar boat and stop by the Grand Atrium and gift shop before returning to your hotel.
