After pickup from your hotel in Cairo or Giza, travel to Fayoum in a comfortable vehicle. On the way, admire the contrast between Lake Qarun, known as Egypt’s third-largest lake, and the desert on the opposite shore. In the desert, ride a 4x4 over the sand dunes for some dune bashing.

Visit the Wadi El Rayan waterfalls and Magic Lake

Spend about 2 hours at the Wadi El Rayan waterfalls taking photos, walking, and enjoying free time. Look down over Magic Lake from the hilltop, and bring swimwear if you want to swim in the lake.

See ancient whale fossils in the Valley of the Whales

Head to Wadi Al-Hitan, the Valley of the Whales in the Western Desert, and spend about 2 hours exploring the valley where ancient whale fossils were found while learning about their history. While touring the desert, also see the caves of the Watermelon Valley.

Try sandboarding and take photos at Medawara Mountain

With the lunch option, take a break for lunch at a local restaurant. Then slide down the dunes on a sandboard, stop for about 30 minutes of photos at Medawara Mountain, and return to your hotel in Cairo.
