Mount Cook Tasman Glacier Heli-Hike Tour

Get a safety briefing at Mount Cook Airport
and board your helicopter

After checking in at Mount Cook Airport, receive a safety briefing of about 20 minutes and get fitted with hiking gear such as glacier boots and crampons. The tour time you select is the check-in time, and the briefing and gear fitting take at least 45 minutes after check-in.

Fly over the Southern Alps and land on the Tasman Glacier

Fly over the Southern Alps for about 15 minutes, enjoying views of the Tasman Glacier Lake and the icefields. At the end of the flight, land on the Tasman Glacier.

Hike the glacier for 2 hours with your guide

Put on glacier boots and crampons and enjoy a 2-hour hike with an experienced professional guide. Explore the rippled ice formations up close in the shadow of Aoraki and Mount Tasman, the highest peaks of the Southern Alps.

See the Hochstetter Icefall on the way back

On the return flight of about 15 minutes, fly close to the massive 1,000 m Hochstetter Icefall on the east face of Aoraki. Admire the scenery of Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park, covered in white snow and ice all year round, as you return to the airport.
