Tolle Insel! Wer Schildkröten sehen möchte, für den ist ein Besuch ein absolutes Muss. Ob beim Schnorcheln oder sogar vom Strand aus – hier hat man gute Chancen, Schildkröten zu beobachten. Auch das Restaurant auf der Insel ist wirklich toll. Die Überfahrt mit dem Schiff war sehr angenehm und hat schon die Anreise zu einem schönen Erlebnis gemacht.

Was very choppy, booked the glass bottom boat but didn't go on it as I didn't see the sense. It rained on the island for about half of the trip. Bad luck I guess.

The glass bottom boat was great, the snorkelling was pretty average - there's really not much to see and once the tide goes out it becomes extremely shallow. If you're going here because you're not that keen on snorkelling I'd recommend it, but if thats your main attraction I'd book a different activity. Staff were very friendly and island food was good.

Great trip. Beautiful smooth crossing, including a cuppa. Island is small so perfectly walkable. Glass bottom boat was great and the water was perfectly clear. Saw a couple of turtles before I'd ecen left the pier. Snorkelling equipment all provided and as I was a solo traveller they also provided a life jacket and advised I go to the life guarded beachwhich helped me feel safe in the water. Saw some great fish, but best of all, a turtle swam by when I was in the water - amazing moment! There was a really interesting short talk on the barrier reef and island and then a short guided walk. A fabulous day, would definitely recommend.

Take a high-speed catamaran from Cairns
to a 6,000-year-old coral cay

Board an air-conditioned high-speed catamaran at Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal and head to Green Island on the Great Barrier Reef. The trip takes about 45 minutes each way, and morning tea and coffee are served on board before departure.

Choose your departure from Cairns (8:30 AM or 10:30 AM) and from Green Island (2:30 PM or 4:30 PM) as your option, and enjoy up to 7 hours of free time on the island.

Explore the reef on a glass bottom boat

Green Island is a tropical island with more than 120 native plant species, birds, coral gardens and abundant marine life. Join the coral viewing tour on a glass bottom boat to see beautiful coral and marine life without getting in the water.

Snorkel right off the white sandy beach

Put on your hired snorkel equipment, step into the sea right in front of the white sandy beach and swim among the coral gardens. If you're lucky, you may meet turtles, rays and clownfish (Nemo).

Fill your day with rainforest walks and the island pool

Explore the island's lush rainforest at your own pace along the walking trails, or join the reef talk and island walk with a marine biologist (exclusive to Great Adventures guests). You can also swim in the island pool (exclusive to Great Adventures guests) and enjoy refreshments at the pool bar.

The island has a dive shop, restaurants and eateries where you can buy lunch, snacks and refreshments. Optional activities such as scuba diving, an offshore boat snorkel tour, Seawalker helmet diving, canoeing and helicopter flights are available at an extra cost.
