The location and the class itself are great, but the guide is a blue-eyed white man, and the rudeness of the other foreign participants, ridicule of Japanese culture, and taking photos and videos without permission are annoying. It's like that everywhere, but other than that, the class itself is great.

Experience a tea ceremony at a hidden temple
Introducing a tea ceremony experience at Jotokuji in Kyoto. Feel free to admire the architecture while walking through the inner garden and temple, and then meet the instructor who will lead the tea ceremony in the grand tea room.
Start your tour of the temple with a traditional purification ritual, a completely unique and insightful experience. Then, take off your shoes at the entrance to the grand tea room, go inside with your group, sit down, and taste the finest matcha. Don't worry, the tea master will guide you through the entire process, showing and explaining everything.
Also, while drinking matcha, you will learn how to drink matcha and be reminded of the importance of matcha tea ceremony.
