Japanese Tea Ceremony Experience
Sit on tatami mats, traditional Japanese floor mats, and meet an English-speaking host, a certified tea master from Urasenke, Japan's largest tea ceremony school, for a special tea ceremony experience.
Watch the host prepare matcha, powdered green tea, and have the opportunity to make your own tea while learning about the history and spiritual role of tea ceremonies and how each preparation method affects the taste of the tea. Afterwards, you can taste traditional Japanese sweets.
After the tea ceremony, you can see and take pictures of examples of kimonos and beautiful fabrics made in Kyoto's Nishijin area. If you would like to wear a kimono during the experience, you can select it as an additional option when booking and take pictures to commemorate your experience!
