Anakuma Cafe is a healing concept cafe located in Tokyo and Fukuoka, where you can feel a warm and cozy atmosphere. The name 'Anakuma' comes from 'bear in a cave', and it is themed on natural comfort and a fairy-tale feeling.
The special experience allows you to exclusively use the entire cafe for 20 minutes at a designated date and time, choose any menu you want, and the cafe's mascot character will greet you in person. Anakuma Cafe Story
On the bustling streets of Harajuku, a small cave (穴, Ana) in a gray concrete wall stops passersby. This is the 'Anakuma Cafe' that I will introduce today. 'Anakuma (穴熊)' means 'bear in a cave', and like its name, this cafe has a very special barista. It's a 'bear' living behind the cave wall!
The story of 'Anakuma Cafe' started with the idea of 'new communication' in the 'non-face-to-face' era. The owner wanted to reduce direct contact between people, but wanted to provide fun, excitement, and a warm experience, so he came up with a fairy-tale idea: 'A fluffy bear hidden behind the wall hands you coffee'.
When a customer finishes ordering at the kiosk and takes the receipt to the cave, a large, fluffy bear's hand suddenly pops out of the cave and hands them a drink. Sometimes they give you a high-five, wave their hands, or play cute pranks. The short moment of connection with the 'bear' barista, whose face and name you don't know, makes an ordinary cafe experience an unforgettable special memory.
