Mari Mari Cultural Village Day Tour in Kota Kinabalu (WAUG Exclusive)

Mari Mari Cultural Village was even better than our family expected. The experience was well organized and gave us a wonderful introduction to the five indigenous tribes of Sabah. We visited each traditional house, learned about their unique lifestyles and cultures, and had the opportunity to try traditional foods and drinks along the way.

The guides at Mari Mari were outstanding—they explained everything clearly and made the experience both engaging and educational.

A special shout-out to our tour guide, **Jackson**! He truly made our trip memorable. He took many wonderful photos of our family and sent them to us afterward, giving us memories that we will cherish. On the drive to and from Mari Mari Village, he even played Korean songs for us, which was such a thoughtful touch. He was incredibly friendly, kind, professional, and well prepared throughout the tour.

Thank you, Jackson, for making our visit so special. You are truly one of the best tour guides we've ever had!

Pickup & Drop Driver Nick raised the energy right from the start, boosting my expectations to the brim! Guide Jackson accompanied us the entire time, diligently taking photos and videos. He really worked so hard... At the Folk Village, a professional guide led the tour separately. He explained everything in detail throughout the entire process, even mixing in a little Korean occasionally... hehe. After watching the traditional performance at Mari Mari, we saw a show at Imago Mall, and the quality here was definitely higher. Make sure to bring water, a handheld fan, and mosquito repellent. It takes a long time, and the fatigue from the travel on the way back sets in, but if you have the time, I highly recommend it! Nick & Jackson are the best!

My driver’s name was Nick, and my guide’s name was Amelin. They were both incredibly kind and made the whole experience so much more enjoyable!

There are so many activities to participate in at Mari Mari Cultural Village, so it’s actually quite easy to miss some of them. Thankfully, Amelin made sure I didn’t miss anything and helped me participate in all the activities. She also took so many great pictures for me, which I really appreciated!

Nick was also such a great driver. He had such positive energy, and thanks to him, I was able to have such a fun and enjoyable day throughout the entire tour.

Actually, after this tour, I also joined their sunset paddle boat tanjung aru tour on same day, and I highly recommend that program as well. I had a really great experience with this tour company overall!

Mari Mari Cultural Village에는 참여할 수 있는 다양한 활동이 많아서 자칫하면 몇 가지를 놓치기 쉬운데, Amelin 가이드님이 제가 하나도 놓치지 않도록 잘 챙겨주셨어요. 덕분에 모든 활동에 참여할 수 있었고, 사진도 정말 많이 예쁘게 찍어주셔서 너무 좋았어요!

드라이버 Nick도 정말 친절했어요. 긍정적인 에너지가 정말 좋은 분이었고, 덕분에 투어 내내 즐거운 분위기 속에서 재미있는 하루를 보낼 수 있었습니다.

사실 이 투어 이후에도 이 투어 회사의 탄중아루 선셋 패들보트 투어에 참여했는데, 그 프로그램도 정말 추천하고 싶어요. 전체적으로 이 투어 회사와 함께한 경험이 정말 좋았습니다!

I didn't plan to go to Mari Mari Cultural Village at first, yet it was even better than my expectation. We got to see the five indigenous tribes of Sabah and visited each traditional house, learned about their unique lifestyles and cultures,  We even had the opportunity to try traditional foods and drinks .
And the lunch buffet was good even though the number of dish wasn't that diverse.
Everything there was exceptional.

Especially i'd like to thank my tour guide, Nick and his wife.
They truly went extra miles for our pleasant experience. Nick was so friendly , thoughtful and kind. His wife, too
They took lots of photos and videos and even carried our bags when our hands were occupied. And when my clumsy son smudged henna tattoo which was offered  at the tour , Nick even made the tattooist redo it again for us. Overall, I felt so pampered by their services.  

I've met many tour guides so far and it's not stretch to say he is the sweetest and kindest.
