Southeast Botanical Gardens is already famous as Japan's largest botanical garden with a history of about 40 years!

It has approximately 1,300 species of subtropical plants and palm trees from Southeast Asia, Africa, and South America in an area of approximately 45,000 square meters. In particular, you can admire Japan's finest Yusrashia palm tree-lined street, baobab trees, lotus flowers, and dragon blood trees. Various plants and trees create a quaint atmosphere with several ponds and lakes inside, making it perfect for a date.

You can meet cute squirrel monkeys and capybaras at the animal interaction plaza, and you can even have a feeding experience for an additional fee. Spend a warm day in a paradise created by animals and plants, just like its name.

- Alexander Palm Tree
Alexander palm trees can only grow in greenhouses on mainland Japan, but here you can enjoy the amazing sight of many palm trees growing straight towards the sky. This street lined with palm trees is also famous as a popular spiritual spot.

- Baobab Tree
The self-baobab tree, native to Madagascar, can be found in the southeastern botanical garden. The leaves are eaten as vegetables, the roots are used as medicine, and no part of the tree is wasted.

- Lotus
When Okinawa enters the rainy season, lotus flowers begin to bloom, and you can enjoy the spectacular sight of a large pond covered with white and pink lotus flowers.

- Dragon Blood Tree
As the name suggests, the dragon blood tree produces dark red currants called dragon's blood. Don't miss this special opportunity to see a dragon blood tree forest without going to its natural habitat!

At Southeast Botanical Gardens, there are petting experiences where you can interact with various animal friends.

A petting experience where you can see cute animals that you usually only see from a distance and give them food! Let me tell you which animals you can have a petting experience with and at what time.

- Champloo Petting
It looks similar to a hamster and boasts a cute visual! Petting is possible from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm.

- Capybara and Squirrel Monkey Petting Zoo
