The Vanida Story

Nestled on Charoen Road in Bangkok's old neighborhood stands a white wooden house: Vanida Restaurant. The story of this house begins with 'Khun O,' a successful businesswoman known for her famous pie brand, 'April's Bakery.' Every morning, as she dropped her child off at school, she was captivated by the sight of a century-old teak house standing by the roadside. More than just an old house, it was a house that embraced Bangkok's history, having served as the Japanese military headquarters during World War II.

She decided to breathe new life into this house and named the restaurant 'Vanida' after her mother, who had introduced her to the joys of cooking. She hoped that this space would not just be a place to sell food but a 'home' where she could share the memories and sincerity of her mother's warm home-cooked meals with guests.

'Vanida' operates under the philosophy of 'a comfortable meal at home, but with 5-star hotel service.' Each vintage yet luxurious plate, along with the old furniture and props, creates a feeling of stepping back in time. Here, you can taste over 100 diverse dishes that faithfully follow traditional Thai recipes while being reinterpreted with a modern touch.
