It felt like escaping the hustle and bustle of Dotonbori and being treated to a meal at a traditional restaurant. I was deeply moved by the staff, all dressed in kimonos, who served us with such care. However, I decided to make a reservation because of the &quot;Michelin 1-Star&quot; label, so I was a bit puzzled to find no Michelin mark upon arrival. Even after asking Gemini, it states that the restaurant has never been listed in the Michelin Guide. My search might be incorrect, but I am leaving this review for those considering a reservation to keep in mind.

First of all, I made a reservation in advance through Wag, so I was able to get in right away without having to wait. The food was also delicious!

Established in Sakai City in 1919, Haruju moved to Osaka's Shinsekai district before settling in its current Dotonbori location in 1948, where it has remained a beloved establishment. Haruju is renowned for presenting 'Kuroge Wagyu' (Japanese Black Beef) in both Japanese and Western styles to domestic and international patrons. A unique feature is its operation as a butcher shop, ensuring the highest quality meats. All beef used at Haruju is Japanese Wagyu, with individual meat numbers provided for verification. This is a dedicated sukiyaki restaurant that places exceptional importance on the quality of its beef.

Since its inception, Haruju has perfected dishes that enhance the exquisite flavor of its beef with ingredients like grilled tofu, carefully selected leeks, and a secret sukiyaki sauce. The experience is a delightful harmony of melt-in-your-mouth tender beef, fresh vegetables, and savory tofu.

We Only Serve Top-Grade Beef

Haruju exclusively uses the finest Kuroge Wagyu. Upon ordering, you'll receive beautifully marbled beef alongside fresh vegetables. Unlike sukiyaki in Korea, the beef here is notably thick-cut.
