The experience was so good that we’re doing it again with our friend who skipped this 1st experience. The views are absolutely spectacular and multiple stops for tastings (wine, whiskey, beer). Definitely do the 1st bus to have more time to hop on and off.

The Waiheke Island trip was an amazing way to spend the day. Starting with the ferry ride from Auckland, it was already very exciting. Once on the Island, it was easy to locate the bus. Our drivers, Nicole and Simon, were wonderful and a lot of fun to talk to. They were knowledgeable about the island and all activities and made the drive very interesting. The route had many great stops to hop off and explore on your own. I spent all day on the island and didn’t get bored for a second.

All in all a great day and very convenient with the Hop-On Ho-Off. Drivers were friendly and informative. Might want to add an agent at the terminal in Aukland to direct you to the appropriate gate.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day trip to Waiheke Island. Our ferry ride was comfortable, Doris and Matt, our bus drivers on Waiheke were knowledgeable and friendly. There was a good choice of food and things to do and see. Recommend this tour.

Excellent value for money! For those who want a day trip on the island, it's really worth it. The Hop-on Hop-off drivers were extremely kind, explained everything about the place, and even gave tips on the best wineries to visit. This tour was well worth it!

Begin your adventure at the Auckland Downtown Ferry Terminal. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Hauraki Gulf during the approximately 40-minute ferry crossing to Matiatia Ferry Terminal, the gateway to Waiheke Island.

Discover 16 Stops at Your Own Pace

Once you arrive on Waiheke Island, hop on the Western Explorer Hop-On Hop-Off Bus. The full loop takes about 80 minutes, with 16 designated stops. Feel free to hop off at any stop that interests you, explore the area, and then catch the next bus to continue your journey.
