The tour starts with pickup from your accommodation within 50 km of Levi Village. There is no fixed route, mileage cap or early cut-off; the route is decided based on real-time forecasts of cloud cover, solar wind and aurora activity that night. You may drive just 50 km into the Finnish wilderness, or travel up to 400 km across the border into Sweden or Norway in search of clear skies. Tour duration depends on the distance travelled.
Your photographer guide takes aurora photos for you
Every tour is led by an experienced local guide who is also a professional photographer. Besides chasing the aurora, the guide photographs the lights with you in the frame. High-quality edited photos are included at no extra cost and sent by email within 24–72 hours after the tour. You'll also get tips on photographing the aurora yourself and learn about the best weather conditions for viewing.
Travel in a warm van with up to 8 guests
Groups are limited to 8 guests, travelling in a warm, modern van with comfortable seating. Hot drinks and Finnish-style snacks are provided along the way, and thermal winter clothing is included. The tour skips roadside rest stops and tourist campfires to focus on finding the aurora.

Pickup is 0–30 minutes before the tour starts, and you will be dropped off at your pickup point after the tour. Look for a van with the Book Lapland logo. Your guide will be wearing a Book Lapland jacket.
