Meet the First Emperor's underground army
at the Terracotta Army Museum in Xi'an

Visit the Terracotta Army Museum of Emperor Qin Shi Huang, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Choose to book the ticket only and go on your own, meet an English-speaking guide at the museum, or join a group tour by coach from the city center with a guide. Tickets are booked with your passport, so no paper ticket is needed. Just show your passport to enter.

See the terracotta soldiers in Pits 1, 2 and 3

Inside the museum, visit Pit 1, Pit 2 and Pit 3 in the order they were discovered. Each of the thousands of statues made 2,200 years ago has its own face and form. See the life-size terracotta soldiers and horses up close and watch archaeological work still in progress.

Learn about the Qin dynasty with an English-speaking guide

On the on-site English guide option, meet your guide at the large statue of Emperor Qin Shi Huang in the museum parking lot and visit all three pits in about 2 hours. On the group bus tour, your guide also explains the history of the Qin dynasty and leads you through the museum for about 2.5 hours.

Travel from the city center by coach

The group bus tour starts at the main entrance of the Bell Tower Hotel downtown, where you meet your guide and travel about 1 hour by coach. After the visit, have lunch at a local restaurant for about 1 hour (at your own expense), then return downtown and get off near the Bell Tower. Muslim Street and the City Wall are nearby for more sightseeing, and your guide is happy to recommend places.
