Found in the tomb of Qin Shi Huang, the Terracotta Army is one of China's best-known cultural heritage sites alongside the Great Wall and the Forbidden City. From afar the soldiers look like an identical army, but up close each statue has a different tunic, facial features and hairstyle. Look closely at the finely detailed, bulky tunics fastened with knots and their intense gazes.

Visit Lishan Garden, home of the emperor's mausoleum

Your ticket also includes Lishan Garden, where the tomb of Qin Shi Huang, China's first emperor, is located. Around Mount Li, where the Terracotta Army was first excavated, you can also see the remains of the emperor's mausoleum.
