This 3-day, 2-night tour begins with hotel pickup in Hanoi's Old Quarter, visits Hoa Lu, Trang An and Mua Cave in Ninh Binh, and then spends a night aboard the Carnival Cruise in Lan Ha Bay. The first night is at a hotel or eco-lodge in Ninh Binh, and the second night is in a cruise cabin with a private balcony and bathtub. An English-speaking guide accompanies you, and 6 meals (2 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 1 dinner), Ninh Binh entrance fees, kayaking, bamboo boat rides and a cooking class are included.

Visit Hoa Lu, Trang An and Mua Cave in Ninh Binh

Travel from Hanoi to Ninh Binh by limousine bus and explore Hoa Lu, Vietnam's ancient capital. Enjoy a Vietnamese lunch buffet at a local restaurant with goat, fish, chicken, fried rice and vegetarian dishes.

In the afternoon, ride a traditional wooden boat through UNESCO-listed Trang An, gliding along quiet rivers, through caves and between limestone karsts. Then climb about 500 steps to the Mua Cave viewpoint for panoramic views of Tam Coc and the surrounding countryside before heading to your accommodation in Ninh Binh.

Kayak to caves and watch the sunset aboard the Carnival Cruise

On day 2, a limousine bus takes you to Tuan Chau Island, the gateway to Ha Long Bay, where a tender boat brings you to the cruise. After a welcome drink, a cold towel and check-in, settle into your private cabin and have lunch in the onboard restaurant.

In the afternoon, explore white limestone karsts and the Dark & Bright Cave by kayak or traditional bamboo boat. Watch the sunset from the deck and join a Vietnamese cooking class, and after dinner relax at the bar with music and drinks, try squid fishing or book a spa massage (extra).

Kayak at Tra Bau in the morning and return to Hanoi

Early on the last morning, have a light breakfast and kayak or swim in the calm waters of Tra Bau, surrounded by limestone karsts. Back on board, check out and enjoy a farewell brunch as the cruise sails back to port. After disembarking, wait in the cruise lounge for the bus back to Hanoi.
