The recommended route starts in the central hall and the antique galleries of the west wing, continues through the central courtyard and leads to the east wing and the painting and calligraphy halls. The Northern Song Pearl Pagoda, decorated with more than 40,000 pearls, is a national treasure not to be missed.

Visit Zhongwang Mansion, a Qing dynasty building

The same ticket also lets you visit Zhongwang Mansion, a Qing dynasty building that preserves Suzhou's classical residential architecture and old murals. This is a self-guided visit, and the whole visit takes about 1.5–2.5 hours.
