Things to keep in mind: if you get motion sick easily, DO NOT sit below the deck or inside the ferry, people were throwing up the whole way there. Above deck or outside where there is airflow will make a huge difference for you along with motion sickness meds which you can easily get over the counter in Naha. Our ferry ran late so there wasn’t much time to enjoy the beach before snorkeling (which we opted in for). There was also little time after snorkeling to enjoy Aharen because it took a while to get started. Our bus to the beach had these folding seats in the middle of the row that was very rusty and got rust stains on my husband’s clothes. Not a big deal, but don’t wear items you don’t mind getting dirty. If you didn’t want the included lunch, there were some food options at Aharen but cash only. There was also a Lawson by the ferry check in which made for convenient snack purchases beforehand. That said, beautiful views on the ferry, bus, beach, and reefs and decent value.

Bon rapport qualité/prix et guides sympas...plage superbe et surveillée...repas du midi était un curry de légumes avec du riz et non un pique nique donc appréciable...vestiaire, douche et matériel de snorkling sur place si vous prenez l'activité snorkling.

Highlights

This day trip takes you from Naha by ferry or high-speed boat to Tokashiki Island in the Kerama Islands, where you spend the day at Aharen Beach. The round-trip boat tickets, the island shuttle bus and a simple lunch are included, so there is nothing to book separately. Swim, sunbathe or stroll along Aharen Beach with its clear blue water. Choose the snorkeling option to explore the Kerama sea with gear and an instructor.

Program

Take a boat from Naha
to Aharen Beach on Tokashiki Island

Meet the staff at the designated departure point in Naha and travel to Tokashiki Island by large car ferry (about 70 minutes) or high-speed boat (about 40 minutes). On arrival at Tokashiki Port, a shuttle bus takes you to Aharen Beach, about 15 minutes away, and staff who speak English and Chinese support you throughout the trip.

In summer (March 1 to September 30), the ferry group meets at 09:30 in the 1st-floor lobby of the Naha Port Terminal, departs at 10:00 and arrives at Aharen Beach around 11:25. The high-speed boat group meets at 08:30 in the Marine Liner Tokashiki waiting room, departs at 09:00 and arrives at Aharen Beach around 09:55.

Enjoy free time at Aharen Beach

Aharen Beach is loved as one of the most beautiful beaches in Okinawa. Spend your time freely swimming, sunbathing or walking along the beach.

A simple curry rice lunch is served on site between 11:00 and 14:30. No vegetarian option is available, other meals and drinks are not included, and parents of children aged 0 to 5 need to bring their own meals for them.

Explore the Kerama sea
with an instructor on the snorkeling option

With the snorkeling option, you explore the waters around Aharen Beach. After getting your mask, fins and snorkel, you head to the designated snorkeling area with an instructor. The experience takes about 90 minutes in total, including preparation, briefing, transfer and time in the water. Snorkeling spots and content may change depending on sea and weather conditions.

Return to Naha by shuttle and boat

Ferry guests take the shuttle back to Tokashiki Port at 15:15 to 15:30, depart at 16:00 and arrive at Naha Tomari Port around 17:10. High-speed boat guests take the shuttle at 16:30 to 16:45, depart at 17:30 and arrive at Naha Port (north shore) around 18:10.

In winter (October 1 to the end of February), the return shuttle and boat leave 30 minutes earlier, so your time on the island is 30 minutes shorter.
