From Seoul: Cheorwon Hantangang Columnar Joint Trail & Goseokjeong Day Tour - Lunch Included

We had a fantastic day. The walk was beautiful and interesting and we enjoyed seeing an area with less foreign tourists. We also enjoyed our lunch very much. Jun was very enthusiastic and charming. We enjoyed talking to him about life in Korea. It was lovely to have him looking after us so well.

The Geopark Tour is the perfect choice for the visitor who wants to see the Korean countryside, stunning geographic features, and an invigorating walk along the Hantan River where you can see the unique basalt formations and a number of beautiful waterfalls. The2 hour drive from Seoul with Jun flew past as he told me about Korean history & pointed out sites along the way. The park itself is stunning with well maintained walkways and bridges that follow the course of the river. Jun walked with me for the first kilometer before sending me off on my own while he drove to the end of the trail to pick me up. We continued on a short 15 minute drive to Goseokjeong (along the way, Jun pointed out the historic Seungil Bridge). We had an excellent bibimbap at the Basalt Restaurant (현무암). After lunch, we walked to the Goseokjeong Pavilion & down to the riverside. Jun’s knowledge of the area & his passion for Korean history and nature made this one of the best tours I’ve taken, highly recommended.

I had a great experience. The Hantan river is beautiful with natural scenery and several waterfalls. The walkways, bridges and rest areas are all well planned out and can be taxing on a hot day but is worth the effort. Jun my guide is a knowledgeable, friendly and highly qualified guide. He made my trip special with a final really delicious bibimbap lunch (the hike may have helped my appetite). Thank you Jun and I wish that the road rises to meet you as you continue on your journey…

This is a wonderful tour, the geopark has stunning cliff side views that over look the river. The suspension bridges that span the cliffs edge are impressive. You feel like a part of the canyon as you walk along. The area is not crowded with other tourists either. The guide is an excellent conversationalists and knowledgeable. The ride there an back was full of interesting information about Seoul, the surrounding area and more. Highly recommend!

A wonderful day trip with a wonderful guide Jun. A lovely 2 hour drive out of Seoul through the countryside. Jun was very informative about Korea as we travelled in his comfortable 9 seater vehicle. The scenery along the valley was fantastic with lots of waterfalls and beautiful views. With a really tasty meal to finish the journey before the drive home. It would be great to do this trip in different seasons to see the different colours of the trees and vegetation. For Nature lovers who want to get away from the city this is a must.
