Long but apart from unavoidable extended periods of travel it was excellent. The whole experience was amazing with so many great people doing their best to make sure we had a great time. Loved our tour guides.

The trip was incredible, I had Damian as a driver and he was so incredibly knowledgeable, kind and informative. Walked us through every step of the day only adding even more context to what the guides for each of the Hobbiton and Waitomo caves tour guides gave us. It was a fantastic day and I highly recommend doing it with Bush and Beach!

It was awesome from beginning to end thanks to our guide Damian. Very good explanation and advice. Clear speach. I totally recommend him. We (my two daughters Melissa and Eva, and I) really have appreciated our day trip to Hobitton and Waitomo. It was nice also meeting people from other countries. The two sites were amazing although it was raining. Totally worth it.

Good organization from pickup on time to arrange the tour and nice guide by Kelly. It's long drive but it's worth and enjoyable.

After pickup from your central Auckland accommodation between 6:30 and 7:00 AM, cross the Bombay Hills into the rich farmland of the Waikato region. On the way, your driver-guide shares information about the area and the background of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit films.

Explore hobbit holes and Bag End
and enjoy a drink at the Green Dragon Inn

On arrival at The Shire's Rest, your guided tour of the Hobbiton Movie Set begins. See 44 hobbit holes, the mill, the double-arch bridge and the Party Tree, and take photos at the front door of Bag End, Bilbo's home, which overlooks the whole set and the hills beyond. The tour ends with an ale, cider or ginger beer at the Green Dragon Inn.

In Waitomo, join a 45-minute guided tour of the Waitomo Glowworm Caves. Discover delicate cave formations shaped over 30 million years and the space known as the Cathedral, then take a quiet boat ride through the Glowworm Grotto to admire New Zealand's native glowworms. After the tour, return to Auckland, with the option of afternoon tea at your own expense along the way.
