It was an amazing experience. Definitely recommend to anyone staying in Auckland, great way to visit must do attractions without the stress of driving and parking. The guide Jeoff was very informative, friendly and added made the whole day worth it.

It was amazing to experience and learn about the Waitomo Glowworm Caves and Rotorua - Te Puia including the Māori history and culture and seeing the kiwi birds. An enjoyable day with our guide Hanoz who was great and very knowledgeable. Definitely recommend this tour!

It was a fantastic day trip with Dave from Cheeky Kiwi! He did everything he could to guarantee we had a good time! He took photos of us throughout the day to make sure we won’t forget where we were, introduced us to local fruits, told us a lot about Māori culture and history and much more. It was a fantastic day in a comfortable van!

Highlights

Embark on a journey from Auckland to witness two of New Zealand's North Island's most iconic natural wonders in a single day. In the Waitomo Glowworm Caves, drift along on a boat and marvel at the countless glowworms illuminating the darkness like stars. Then, at Te Puia in Rotorua, get up close with the mighty Pōhutu Geyser and bubbling mud pools. This comprehensive small-group tour also includes a visit to discover Maori traditional arts and crafts, a chance to see the native kiwi bird, and a scenic drive past Rotorua's key landmarks.

Program

Explore Waitomo and Rotorua in One Day

Depart from Auckland in a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan and journey through the picturesque Waikato countryside towards the Waitomo Glowworm Caves (Waitomo Glowworm Caves). Join your expert guide for a tour of the ancient limestone caves, followed by a serene boat ride along a subterranean river. Witness the unique, magical spectacle of thousands of glowworms twinkling like stars on the cave ceiling – an experience exclusive to Waitomo.

Experience Geothermal Wonders and Maori Culture at Te Puia

In Rotorua, enjoy a guided tour of Te Puia (Te Puia) for approximately 90 minutes. Explore the geothermal valley featuring the **Pōhutu Geyser (Pōhutu Geyser)**, known as the largest active geyser in the Southern Hemisphere, along with bubbling mud pools and steaming vents.

Visit the New Zealand Maori Arts and Crafts Institute to learn about traditional carving and crafts, and have a chance to see the iconic kiwi bird at the kiwi conservation facility. Afterward, enjoy a scenic drive past Rotorua's key landmarks, including Lake Rotorua, the Government Gardens, and the Blue Baths, before returning to Auckland.
