After the intense martial arts, a tranquil tea ceremony awaits. By following the process of preparing and serving tea, you will understand why the samurai put their heart into a cup of tea. Archery, swordsmanship, and the tea bowl. These three are not just tools, but means for the samurai to calm their minds and reflect on themselves. The climax of the experience is the overwhelming Taiko drum performance. All participants join together to strike the massive Meihodo Taiko drum, which is over 2 meters in diameter, expressing their new beginnings and resolutions through sound. When the sound of the drum resonates throughout your body, you will feel a thrilling catharsis as if you are breathing with the warriors of an era.
All programs are held at Meihodo, a cultural space in Kumamoto. After completing the approximately 2.5-hour journey, you will also receive a certificate of completion, signifying that you have completed samurai training, which will be more than just a memory and will be remembered for a long time.
