Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon: Where the Buddha Image is Perfectly Preserved

Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon was built by the first king of the Ayutthaya Kingdom to assist monks who had studied in Sri Lanka with their meditation.
The most famous features of Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon are the massive 72-meter-high chedi in the center of the temple, built in the Ceylonese style, and the large reclining Buddha statue in front of the main hall. Visit Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon, one of Ayutthaya's representative and oldest temples, and feel its grandeur!
Wat Phra Si Sanphet: The Royal Temple Visited by Kings

Wat Phra Si Sanphet is the largest and most beautiful temple in Ayutthaya.
Built in 1448 as a royal temple, it once housed various buildings but was damaged during the Burmese invasion. Today, only three white stupas remain. The ashes of the successive kings who ruled Ayutthaya are enshrined within these stupas.
Wat Mahathat: The Bodhi Tree Embracing the Buddha's Head

Wat Mahathat is a temple ruin from the former Siamese Kingdom, built in the 14th-15th centuries. Many Buddha statues in Wat Mahathat are damaged or missing their heads, a result of destruction during the war with Burma in the 18th century.
The Bodhi tree with a severed Buddha head is the most famous photo spot at Wat Mahathat, where many travelers take commemorative photos. However, when taking pictures, your head must be lower than the Buddha's head, so you can only photograph while sitting facing forward.
Wat Chaiwatthanaram: Ayutthaya's Night View Spot with Beautiful Illumination

The highlight of your Ayutthaya trip! Enjoy the sunset along the Chao Phraya River on a private boat.
This temple was built in 1630 by King Prasat Thong for his mother, modeled after Angkor Wat in Cambodia. It was heavily damaged and looted during the Burmese war in 1767, with many of its Buddha statues having their heads severed by the Burmese army, who believed Thai power resided in the Buddha images.
Enjoy the fantastic view of Wat Chaiwatthanaram as you cruise along the Chao Phraya River on a sunset boat!
