Imjingak was a devastated battlefield during the Korean War and has various war relics such as the Imjingang Railroad Bridge, which was blown up in the early days of the war and still remains, and the Bridge of Freedom, which was crossed by ROK and UN soldiers who were prisoners of the communist army in search of freedom. Dora Observatory is located on top of Dorasan Mountain, 167m above sea level and 1.5km away from the Military Demarcation Line. When you go up to the Dora Observatory, you can see the DMZ, the Gaeseong Industrial Complex, the Gaeseong city, as well as the North Korean propaganda village and Songaksan Mountain at a glance. Currently, it was rebuilt 12m higher than the old observatory and is guarding the northernmost part of the western front.
