The Open Story of Casa Vicens

When Gaudí built Casa Vicens, he took the motif from the marigold in the garden and used yellow flower-shaped tiles on the exterior walls. The interior, which mainly uses green and white, is characterized by a mosaic floor made of stones and glass fragments that sparkle whenever reflected by light. In addition, the tiles on the exterior walls were also made to shine according to the angle of the sun. The exterior iron fence, which was inspired by palm trees, is also beautiful, and it is highly regarded as a building that blends Islamic Mudejar style and Catholic architectural style well.
