The Eizan Cable Car reaches a height of 561 meters and travels approximately 1.3 kilometers in nine minutes. Through the car's windows, you can enjoy a tunnel of cherry blossoms in spring and autumn foliage.

Climbing Mount Hiei

Mount Hiei, 848 meters high, is home to Enryaku-ji Temple, founded in 788. It's a popular spot, offering panoramic views of Kyoto's traditional landscape, including Lake Biwa.
There are several ways to climb Mount Hiei, but the most convenient and beautiful way is to take the Eizan Cable Car, then transfer to the ropeway to reach the summit.

Take the Eizan Electric Railway and get off at Demachiyanagi Station or Yase Hieizanguchi Station.
From Kyoto Municipal Subway's Kokusai Kaikan Station, take the bus bound for Kyoto Yase/Ohara and get off at Yase Station.
Cable car and ropeway operations will be suspended from Monday, December 15th to Friday, December 19th.
