The Prado Museum is one of the world's top three art museums and is a must-see attraction when traveling to Madrid. It features over 1,500 works of art, including Goya's famous works, "The Family of Charles IV," "The Naked Maja," and "The Clothed Maja," as well as Velazquez's "Las Meninas" and "The Surrender of the Castle of Breda." You can also see works by leading Renaissance artists such as Raphael and Botticelli.

It is a great place to take your time looking around, as it not only has a vast collection of artworks, but also has the elegance of the building itself!

Introducing the structure of the Prado Museum

The Prado Museum has two floors. There are three doors on the first floor, named after artists. The central door is the Velazquez Door, and the Goya Door and Murillo Door are on each side of the building.

Introduction by floor:

On the first floor, you can see Italian Renaissance paintings, Spanish paintings, and Flemish paintings.
Major works: El Greco's 'Holy Trinity' Murillo's 'Adoration of the Shepherds' Flemish School Bosch's 'Garden of Earthly Delights' Weiden's 'Descent from the Cross'

On the second floor, you can see the works of Spanish painters in more detail. It's also nice to see French paintings.

The Prado Museum's Special Collection

The Prado Museum in Madrid has a wide variety of artworks and sculptures, but the best of all is its collection of European paintings. In particular, the works of world-renowned Spanish painters are the most famous. This is because the Prado Museum itself is the museum with the largest collection of works by Spanish painters.

You can see masterpieces by historical Spanish painters such as Bermejo, Berruguete, El Greco, Murillo, Velazquez, Goya, Lopez, and Sorolla.

Don't miss the Velazquez and Goya collections

The Prado Museum's two most notable artists, Velazquez and Goya, are not to be missed. The Prado Museum has around 50 works on display, including Velazquez's Las Meninas and The Triumph of Bacchus.

Also, I have about 140 works by Goya, which I received through the Spanish royal family. Of course, you must see Goya's works, the clothed Maja and the naked Maja. They are works of the same pose, but one is clothed and the other is naked. Since Goya is an artist who contains profound questions about human existence, these works are even more meaningful.

In addition to the exhibition facilities on the first and second floors, the Prado Museum also has various auxiliary facilities such as a cafe, restaurant, library, souvenir shop, and conference hall. Among them, Cafe Prado is worth a visit. Take a break from looking around the museum and enjoy a cup of coffee at the cafe to take a moment of leisure.

If it's difficult to see it alone, a tour is also good.
