Seoul: Han River Wakesurfing Experience & Lesson at River City in Apgujeong

If you want to really enjoy the Han River, try wakesurfing. Wakeboarding and wakesurfing both involve surfing the waves created by boats, but there are some differences. First, the shape of the board is different. Wakeboarding has a device that secures the board and feet like a snowboard, but wakesurfing uses a flat board. Wakesurfing boards are also a little different from regular surfboards. Wakesurfing boards are smaller, at around 4 feet.

How to get to River City

River City Water Ski Resort is located in Jamwon Hangang Park, a hot place in Seoul. If you use navigation, you can search for 'River City Water Ski Resort' or '37-53 Apgujeong-ro 11-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul'.

• Basic rate: 1,000 won for the first 30 minutes, 200 won for every additional 10 minutes
• Maximum daily parking fee is 10,000 won

How to wakesurf

Get pulled by the surfboard - Try to land on the board while maintaining your stance until the board is firmly attached to your feet.
Maintain your posture - Don't try to get up, just hold on to your posture and resist the current.
Look Left + Move Left - If you look to the left of the boat and stay still, it will automatically return to the center.
Stand up - Stand up slowly while surfing the wave with your legs spread apart. Make sure your left foot is in the center of the surfboard.
Let go of the line - Let go of all the line you are holding while keeping your center of gravity and feel the waves flowing freely.
