This small-group Northern Lights hunting and photography tour departs from Levi in Finnish Lapland. Head out on the best route of the day
based on the forecast
Planning for each tour starts early in the morning on the day. The team analyzes weather systems, solar activity and local forecasts to choose the route with the best chance of seeing the Northern Lights. Before departure, you get a short briefing on the current weather conditions, the aurora outlook and the destinations of the day.
Travel by minivan into the wilderness of northern Lapland
In a small group of up to 8 people per guide, you travel in a minivan equipped for Arctic winter conditions. You usually visit 1–3 spots during the tour, chosen on the spot based on real-time forecasts and photography conditions. If the best conditions are far away, the team will drive up to 100 km.
Capture the Northern Lights with your photography guide
At the first spot, you spend about 45 minutes taking photos and walking around. At the next spot, you spend about 1.5 hours relaxing, taking photos, walking and enjoying camp activities. Your wilderness and photography guide provides equipment such as tripods, smartphone holders and headlamps, and warm drinks are served.
Receive edited photos after the tour
At the end of the tour, you return to Sirkka (Levi). The photos taken by the guide are edited and sent to you after the tour.
※ The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, and sightings are not guaranteed.
※ If thick clouds or heavy snowfall prevent aurora viewing, the tour focuses on night photography in the Arctic nature.
